Siena Research Institute: Consumer confidence increases for five New York MSAs in second quarter of 2012

According to the latest quarterly consumer confidence survey released by the Siena Research Institute (SRI), overall consumer confidence increased in five New York State metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) in the second quarter of 2012. 

At 79.3, the New York City region had the highest overall consumer confidence of the nine regions, and the Utica region had the lowest at 63.4. 

Home buying plans increased in Buffalo, Long Island, New York City, and Syracuse, while falling in the Albany, Binghamton, Mid-Hudson and Rochester regions. Home buying plans in Utica remained the same.
