Sales of new single-family homes in the Northeast in July were up 76.5 percent to a seasonally adjusted rate of 30,000, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. June’s revised annual rate was 17,000.
Nationally, new home sales were at a seasonally adjusted rate of 372,000 for July. This is 3.6 percent above the revised June rate of 359,000 and is 25.3 percent above the July 2011 total of 297,000.
