NAR: Pending home sales slip in June nationally, remain unchanged for Northeast

After reaching the highest level in more than six years, pending home sales declined in June, with rising mortgage interest rates beginning to impact the market, according to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR).

The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings in June, edged down 0.4 percent to 110.9. In the Northeast, the index remained unchanged at 87.2 in June, but is 12.2 percent higher than a year ago.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
