RealtyTrac: New York State July 2013 total foreclosures increase from June

In its U.S. Foreclosures Market Report for July 2013, which reports default notices, schedule auctions and bank repossessions, RealtyTrac Inc. reported New York State had 4,007 total foreclosures, an 8.92-percent increase from June and a 29.97-percent increase from July 2012.

New York State ranks 37 out of all 50 states for monthly total foreclosure filings. One in every 2,017 housing units in New York State received a foreclosure filing in July.

Foreclosure filings were reported nationally on 130,888 U.S. properties in July, an increase of 2.42 percent from June but down 31.8 percent from July 2012. Nationally, one in every 1,001 housing units received a foreclosure filing.
