Builder confidence remains unchanged nationally, gains two points in Northeast

Builder confidence in the market for newly-built, single-family homes was unchanged with a reading of 58 in September following four consecutive months of improvement, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI). 

The HMI for the Northeast posted a two-point gain to 41 in September.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
