2013 Fall Business Meetings under way

The 2013 NYSAR Fall Business Meetings kicked off Sunday at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona. During Monday’s General Session, NYSAR President Margaret Hartman provided a recap of NYSAR's activities on behalf of its members during the year.

Additionally, Dr. Elliot Eisenberg gave an economic update, Vice President of Industry and Customer Development Curt Beardsley gave an update on recent changes to, and the 2013 GRI graduates were announced.

Also during the General Session, the 2013 REALTOR of the Year award was presented to George K. Wonica of Staten Island, NY. He is the 56th recipient of the REALTOR of the Year award, which recognizes outstanding service to the REALTOR organization at the local, state and national levels, a strict adherence to the high principles of the National Association of REALTORS Code of Ethics, a commitment to civic activity and business accomplishments. 

The RPAC “Monday Night Fever” fundraiser was also held on Monday, which featured an auction to raise money for RPAC and was a sold-out event.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The January statewide median sales price of $266,000 represented an increase of 8.4 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
