Mortgage applications fall slightly according to weekly survey

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending September 27, 2013, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications fell 0.4 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index decreased 1 percent compared with the previous week.

The Refinance Index increased 3 percent from the previous week, while the Purchase Index fell 6 percent from one week earlier.
