SRI: Consumer confidence falls in eight of nine New York MSAs in third quarter 2013

According to the latest quarterly consumer confidence survey released by the Siena Research Institute (SRI), overall consumer confidence decreased in eight New York State MSAs in the third quarter of 2013.

At 79.6, the New York City region had the highest overall consumer confidence  of the nine regions, and the Utica region had the lowest at 63.4.

Home buying plans increased in Binghamton, Long Island, Mid-Hudson, Rochester, Syracuse and Utica. Home buying plans fell in the Albany, Buffalo and New York City regions.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
