Builder confidence falls nationally and in the Northeast in October

Builder confidence in the market for newly-built, single-family homes fell two points in October from a downwardly revised reading in the previous month to a level of 55, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).

The HMI fell three points to 38 in the Northeast in October.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
