Mortgage applications remain essentially unchanged in latest survey

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending October 18, 2013, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications fell 0.6 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, they fell 1 percent compared with the previous week. 

The Refinance Index also decreased this week, falling 1 percent from the previous week, while the Purchase Index rose 1 percent from one week earlier.

New York statewide home sales remain strong in February
