Freddie Mac: Mortgage rates remain steady for Northeast

In its Primary Mortgage Market Survey for the week ending January 23, 2014, Freddie Mac reported that the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) for the Northeast averaged 4.39 percent, remaining level with the previous week’s average.

The 15-year FRM for the Northeast rose from 3.42 percent to 3.44 percent.

Nationally, the 30-year FRM averaged 4.39 percent, down from 4.41 percent the previous week, while the 15-year FRM fell from 3.45 percent to 3.44 percent.

Home sales near record high in November

There were 10,719 closed home sales across New York State during November, representing the second-highest total on record for the month. The November sales record of 10,991 was set in November 2016.
