Builder confidence treads water in March

Builder confidence in the market for newly-built, single-family homes rose one point to 47 in March on the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).

The HMI for the Northeast fell three points to 35 in March.

NAHB Chairman Kevin Kelly said that the March HMI mirrors last month’s sentiment, as builders continued to be affected by poor weather and difficulties in finding lots and labor.

New York statewide home sales remain strong in February
