NAR: Existing-home sales reach a high nationally, stay level for Northeast

Existing-home sales increased in July to their highest annual pace of the year, according to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). 

Total existing-home sales, which include single-family townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, rose 2.4 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.15 million in July. July closings were remain 4.3 percent below the 5.38 million-unit pace of July 2013. 

In the Northeast, existing-home sales stayed at an annual rate of 640,000 for the second consecutive month and are now 9.9 percent below a year ago.
