U.S. Commerce Department: New home sales remain level for Northeast in September

Sales of new single-family homes in the Northeast in September remained level at 30,000, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. August’s revised annual rate was also 30,000.

Nationally, new home sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 467,000 for September. This is a 0.2 percent increase from the revised August rate of 466,000 and is 17 percent above the September 2013 total of 399,000.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
