NAR: Pending home sales improve slightly nationally and for the Northeast

Pending home sales slightly improved in November and are above year-over-year levels for the third straight month, according to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). 

The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings in November, increased 0.8 percent to 104.8 from a slightly downwardly-revised 104.0 in October. In the Northeast, the index rose 1.4 percent to 89.1, 7 percent above a year ago.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
