Mortgage applications fall for week of President’s Day holiday

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending February 20, 2015, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications fell 3.5 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index fell 12 percent compared with the previous week. This week’s results include an adjustment to account for the President’s Day holiday.

The Refinance Index also decreased from the previous week, falling 8 percent, while the Purchase Index rose 5 percent from one week earlier.

Home sales near record high in November

There were 10,719 closed home sales across New York State during November, representing the second-highest total on record for the month. The November sales record of 10,991 was set in November 2016. The statewide median sales price grew by 5.8 percent in November compared to last November. Click here to read more.
