Mortgage applications fall slightly in weekly survey

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending May 22, 2015, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported the volume of mortgage loan applications fell 1.6 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index fell 2 percent.
The Refinance Index also decreased, falling 4 percent from the previous week, while the Purchase Index rose 1 percent.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
