SRI: New York State home buying plans decrease in June

According to the latest poll by the Siena Research Institute (SRI), New York State consumer home buying plans were down to 7 percent in June after measuring at 8.1 percent in March. Overall, New York State consumer confidence was down 1.8 points in June to 84.6, 11.5 points below the nation’s index of 96.1. 
 
Buying plans were also down for consumer electronics and major home improvements. Buying plans improved for furniture and remained unchanged for cars/trucks.

Empire State home sales set January record

The home sales growth trend continued in New York State during January with the 8,472 closed sales setting a new high-water mark for the month. The January statewide median sales price of $250,000 represents an increase of 8.7 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
