Mortgage applications remain flat in weekly survey

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending July 17, 2015, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported the measure of mortgage loan applications increased 0.1 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index rose 0.4 percent compared with the previous week. 
The Refinance Index fell 1 percent from the previous week, while the Purchase Index rose 1 percent from one week earlier.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
