Corelogic's latest Home Price Index named New York State among the 15 states and the District of Columbia that reached new highs in home sales prices during June. According to the index, New York State had the third highest price appreciation in the nation, growing by 8.3 percent.
The index also found that home prices nationwide, including distressed sales, increased by 6.5 percent compared to June 2014. It is the 40th consecutive month of year-over-year increases in home prices nationally.
That brings the number of states at or within 10 percent of their peak home prices to 35.
NYSAR's most recent housing market report showed that a 3-percent increase in the statewide median home sales price through the first half of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014.
