U.S. Commerce Department: New home sales rise more than 23 percent in July for Northeast

Sales of new single-family homes in the Northeast during July rose 23.1 percent to 32,000, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. June’s revised annual rate was 26,000.

Nationally, new home sales were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 507,000, up 5.4 percent from June and up 25.8 percent from July 2014.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The January statewide median sales price of $266,000 represented an increase of 8.4 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
