Mortgage applications increase slightly in weekly survey

It its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending August 21, 2015, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications rose 0.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index fell 1 percent compared with the previous week. 
The Refinance Index fell 1 percent from the previous week, while the seasonally adjusted Purchase Index rose 2 percent.
