RealtyTrac: New York State November 2015 foreclosures continue to fall

In its U.S. Foreclosure Market Report for November 2015, which reports default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions, RealtyTrac reported that New York State had 4,819 total foreclosures, a 3.68-percent decrease from October 2015 and a 0.1-percent drop from the same time last year.  
 
New York State ranks 24 out of all 50 states in monthly total foreclosure filings. One in every 1,684 housing units in New York State received a foreclosure filing in November. 
 
Foreclosure filings were reported nationally on 104,111 U.S. properties in November. This is 9.57 percent below the October total and 7.46 percent below November 2014. Nationally, one in every 1,268 housing units received a foreclosure filing.

Home sales near record high in November

There were 10,719 closed home sales across New York State during November, representing the second-highest total on record for the month. The November sales record of 10,991 was set in November 2016. The statewide median sales price grew by 5.8 percent in November compared to last November. Click here to read more.
