Builder confidence holds steady in January

Builder confidence in the market for newly-built single-family homes held steady at 60 in January from a downwardly-revised December reading of 60, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
The Northeast posted a one-point decline to 49 in January.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS.
