NAR: Pending home sales maintain momentum in March

Pending home sales increased slightly in March for the second consecutive month and reached their highest level in almost a year, according to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). 
The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings in March, climbed 1.4 percent to 110.5, 1.4 percent above March 2015.
The index increased 3.2 percent in the Northeast to 97 in March, and is now 18.4 percent above a year ago. To read the entire NAR press release, click here.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The January statewide median sales price of $266,000 represented an increase of 8.4 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
