Two-day spring conference offers plenty for appraisers

Appraisers from across New York State gathered for the 14th Annual Arthur G. McCartney Spring Appraisal Conference held May 8-9 in Fishkill, NY. Attendees learned about new licensing requirements, FHA appraisal guidelines and heard from NYS Department of State representatives. Read the article.

Cuomo successfully pushes appraisal code of conduct

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's push for a nationwide Home Valuation Code of Conduct has paid off. Beginning January 1, 2009, all loans funded by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be required to follow the code when it comes to finding/employing an appraiser. Read the article.
