Many of those who graduated from the REALTOR Institute last fall were recipients of GRI scholarships from the Foundation. One of them was Kathie Spangler, Associate Broker with Equitas Realty in Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs, and here’s what she had to say about her experience.
"It was very important for me to earn my GRI designation within three years, so I traveled to various board offices outside of my region to complete my GRI courses. Taking courses at other locations allowed me to meet REALTORS from other parts of the state and build a network of people for referrals and friendship.
I believe that in order to be competitive in our industry, continuing education is a must. No doubt it has enabled me to continue to have a successful career as a full-time REALTOR! I have been in the business for more than 11 years and found that the courses offered were beneficial to continuing to grow my business. In addition, I liked the idea that the GRI designation requirements recently changed so that 30 credit hours, of my choice, could be taken at my local board. What a wonderful way to take additional courses that interest you, or improve your business, while putting them toward your GRI designation! This change allowed me to finish my course work prior to my three-year goal.
And, all of the instructors who taught the various courses were nothing but top notch educators and it was apparent they all enjoyed teaching these courses. They shared great wisdom and experience while instructing the classes.
I would highly recommend any full-time dedicated REALTOR to earn their GRI designation as a great way to better build their business and meet new REALTOR professionals, all while receiving continuing education credit and becoming more successful."
