Albany – February 8, 2007 – Michael Johnson, GRI, of Lewiston took a second oath of office Monday, Feb. 5, as the 2007 Western Region vice president of the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) during the association’s inauguration ceremony, held in conjunction with its Business Meetings at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Johnson has been re-appointed to serve an additional one-year term in the post.
Johnson, a REALTOR® for 30 years, is an associate broker with Realty USA in Lewiston.
He is a former president of the Niagara Frontier Association of REALTORS®. He is a member of the Buffalo Niagara Association of REALTORS® where he serves on the Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee. Johnson is chair of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and is a New York State Certified Instructor.
At the state level, Johnson has served on or chaired a number of the association’s committees including its Board of Directors, RPAC, executive, international real estate and legislative policy committees. He is a member of both the commission protection and sellers disclosure working groups. He is a member of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS® and was the 2006 president of the New York State Society of Real Estate Appraisers.
Johnson is a past director for the National Association of REALTORS®. He is a federal district coordinator to Congressman John LaFalce and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter.
Active in his community, Johnson is a councilman for the Town of Lewiston. He is a member of the Niagara County Planning Board, Greater Buffalo Partnership and the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce. He served in the United State Air Force. In 2005, he was honored as the Lewiston County Democrat of the Year and as a member of Realty USA’s President’s Council. He is a former chair of the Special Task Force to Save the Niagara Falls Air Base.
