South Glens Falls REALTOR Kathie Spangler appointed as NYSAR Adirondack Region vice president

Albany, NY – Feb. 10, 2016 – Kathie Spangler, GRI, of South Glens Falls took the oath of office Monday, Feb. 8, as the 2016 Adirondack Region vice president of the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) during the association’s inauguration ceremony held in conjunction with its business meetings at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, NY.
Spangler, a REALTOR® for 11 years, is an associate broker with Equitas Realty in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Spangler is a past president of the Warren County Association of REALTORS® (WCAR) and has also served as a director for its multiple listing service. She has served on multiple WCAR committees including grievance, strategic planning and finance. Spangler also holds membership with the Greater Capital Association of REALTORS®, previously serving on its strategic planning committee. She is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. 
At the state level, Spangler serves on numerous committees including multiple listing issues and policies, education management and professional standards. She has also served on NYSAR’s Board of Directors. 
On the national level, she attended the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Conference in 2013. 
Active in her community, Spangler serves on the South Glens Falls Education Foundation Board of Directors, having helped create the non-profit in 2010. She is also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, where she organizes semi-annual blood drives. She has also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Junior Achievement of Northeastern NY.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The January statewide median sales price of $266,000 represented an increase of 8.4 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
