NY First Home bill passes NYS Legislature

On Monday, June 19, the NY First Home Proposal (A.5616-B/S.4058-B) passed in both the New York State Senate and Assembly.  The bill will next be delivered to the governor for his approval at an undetermined time.  The NY First Home Program would allow individuals and couples to put aside money in a special savings account to be used for the upfront costs associated with purchasing a first home in New York State.  Click herefor more details on the program.

Empire State housing market stays hot in January

New York State home sales remained strong to start the new year with 8,698 closed sales, falling just shy of the 2017 record for January, according to the annual housing market report released by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The January statewide median sales price of $266,000 represented an increase of 8.4 percent from a year ago. Click here to read more.
