NYSAR’s Issues Mobilization Fund

NYSAR’s Issues Mobilization Committee reviews and considers requests for financial support from the Issues Mobilization Fund for the organization and management of effective issue campaigns to promote REALTOR policy. The fund is wholly supported by a portion of REALTOR member’s annual dues.

Recent examples of how the fund has been utilized in support of REALTOR policy include a 2006 effort by the Ithaca Board of REALTORS in their fight against a proposed county wide transfer tax. In April of 2007 the Fund also supported a proposal by the Dutchess County Association of REALTORS in their campaign against a transfer tax increase in the Town of Red Hook.

Local boards seeking financial support of the Issue’s Mobilization Fund for their campaigns against local transfer tax proposals may request such support from the Issues Mobilization Committee. Please note that a local REALTOR board seeking the support of the IMF must include with their request a board supported resolution ratifying their desire for financial support from the Fund. Although the Issues Mobilization Committee meets only during NYSAR’s semi-annual business meetings, it does consider requests for funding throughout the year via electronic means or conference calls.
