SRI: Home buying plans fall in August

According to the latest poll by the Siena Research Institute (SRI), New York State consumer home buying plans were down 0.8 points to 3.8 percent in August. Overall, New York State consumer confidence fell 2.1 points, while the nation’s confidence decreased 3 points. At 73.3, New York’s overall consumer confidence is 8.8 points below the nation’s confidence level of 82.1.

Buying plans were also down for cars/trucks, consumer electronics, furniture and major home improvements.

Empire State home sales stay at elevated level during April
