RealtyTrac: Sales volume remains level in New York from October, up slightly from a year ago

In its November 2013 U.S. Residential & Foreclosure Sales Report, RealtyTrac Inc. reported that New York State residential properties sold at an estimated annualized pace of 143,213 in November, remaining level with the previous month but showing a 1-percent increase from November 2012.

The median sales price for New York was $360,000 in November, showing no change from October but up 20 percent from the same time last year. The median price of a distressed sale – in a foreclosure or bank-owned property – was $235,000, level with October but 4 percent above November 2012.

Nationally, U.S. residential properties sold at an estimated annualized pace of 5,146,565 in November, level with October an up 10 percent from November 2012. The national median sales price was $181,500, also level with the previous month but up 7 percent from the same time last year.
