RealtyTrac: Sales volume up slightly, median sales price remains level for New York State

In its April 2014 U.S. Residential & Foreclosure Sales Report, RealtyTrac Inc, reported that New York State residential properties sold at an estimated annualized pace of 155,316 in April, up 0.35 percent from March and up 4.38 percent from one year ago. 

The median sales price for New York was $350,000 in April, remaining level with the previous month, but up 29 percent from April 2013. The median price of a distressed sale – in a foreclosure or bank-owned property – was $227,000, remaining level with March but up 23 percent from the same time last year. 

Nationally, U.S. residential properties sold at an estimated annualized pace of 5,239,480 in April, remaining level with March but up 4 percent from April 2013. The national median sales price was $184,000, up 5 percent from March and up 10 percent from the same time last year.
