MBA: Purchase applications increase slightly while mortgage loan applications fall

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending July 25, 2014, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications fell 2.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index fell 2 percent compared to the previous week.

The Refinance Index also decreased, falling 4 percent, while the Purchase Index increased 0.2 percent from one week earlier.
