Mortgage applications show slight increase

In its Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending August 29, 2014, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reported that the volume of mortgage loan applications increased 0.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier. On an unadjusted basis, the index fell 1 percent compared to the previous week. 

The Refinance Index rose 1 percent from one week prior, while the Purchase Index fell 2 percent.
