NAR: Pending home sales lose steam in September

Pending home sales cooled in September for the second straight month to their second lowest reading in 2015, according to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR). 
 
The Pending Home Sales Index, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings in September, fell 2.3 percent to 106.8, but is still 3 percent above the same time last year. 
 
The index in the Northeast fell 4 percent to 89.6 in September, but is still 3.9 percent above a year ago.
