Safewise finds Lewisboro, NY safest city in US

Lewisboro, NY has been declared the safest city in America by, a safety and security website. The website analyzed FBI crime statistics and combined it with additional research covering public safety, public health and educational offerings to create it's "100 Safest Cities in America" report. 

Located 50 miles north of New York City, Lewisboro was one of only three cities on the list that reported no violent crimes and had the only city to "have less than 1.0 property crimes per 1,000," according to the study.

Other New York cities in the top 100 included Floral Park, Rye, Glen Cove, Harrison, Shawangunk, North Castle, Yorktown and Suffern.

NYS home sales post second-highest May total

Homebuyer activity remained strong in May, driving the New York State housing market to the second-highest sales total for the month with 10,348 closings. May 2018 closed sales were 8.6 percent lower than the record of 11,322 set in May 2017.
