Leadership & Governance Summit – “Purposeful Leadership in Action”
Monday, February 9, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Purposeful Leadership in Action is a dynamic, highly interactive four-hour leadership training designed for those who want to lead with greater clarity, trust and purpose. Through engaging facilitation, live simulations and small-group breakouts, participants explore how power actually operates, how communication across difference breaks down and gets repaired, and how leadership habits surface under pressure. The session goes beyond theory to tackle real-world challenges from navigating conflict to setting boundaries, sharing authority, and making values-aligned decisions when visibility and accountability increase. Leaders leave with practical tools they can apply immediately, along with renewed confidence, energy, and a clearer sense of how to lead responsibly and strengthen trust.
This session will be presented by Amina AlTai, business and career coach and chronic illness advocate.

Installation of Officers Ceremony & Reception
Monday, February 9 – 6:00 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Join your colleagues from across the state for the 2026 Installation of the NYSAR Leadership Team, including President Ron Garafalo, as well as officers of the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) and Women’s Council of Realtors® (WCR). We will once again have a free-flowing format that will allow you to network and partake in fun-filled activities.
The ceremony will take place prior to an elevated reception serving small plates throughout the “Oscars” themed evening. As always, Grand Central Station will be back to entertain us!

BPOs, Appraisals: How to Catch the Wave

The valuation world is changing UAD 3.6 new reporting requirements as of Nov. 2026, Broker Price Opinions, Appraisals, third party inspections and NYS appraisal management law (AMC). The course will review the history behind how we got here and what the future holds. Summarize what agents/brokers roles are and look at licensing requirements in Article 12a Appraisers will look at NY appraiser licensing law and Uniforms Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Caucuses
Wednesday, February 11, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
All attendees are encouraged to participate in their board’s caucus to share details about the committee meetings attended that week in preparation for Thursday’s Board of Directors meeting.
- Small Board Caucus: fewer than 400 members
- Medium Board Caucus: between 400 – 999 members
- Large Board Caucus: between 1,000 – 9,999 members
- Jumbo Board Caucus: 10,000 or more members
The purpose of the caucuses is to educate the members on action items that will be presented to the Board of Directors. The remaining time may be used to discuss other matters such as NYSAR committee meeting activities. The caucuses will be run by an appointee of the Executive Committee who will report back to the full Executive Committee.
